Voice of Art - Iraq Veterans Against the War

Part 1 of the 3 part episode Iraq Veterans Against the War

My brother Z.S. Grant is the director of a show called Voice of Art on the Pharrell Williams i am OTHER channel. Through film he helps others use their art to bring a voice to social issues. This month's Voice of Art (VOA) episode is very powerful.

My brother and his VOA team follow members of Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW) as they use their art to bring a voice to their stories and betrayal by the military complex. Members of the IVAW prepare for the May 2012 march on the NATO summit in Chicago. Fifty IVAW members lead 20,000 protesters to the police barricades that separated the elite attendees from the public. Once there, the veterans and service members through back their Global War on Terrorism medals in symbolic protest of the hypocrisy and failed military policies of the US and NATO.

NOTE- I love that the artists are using mud instead of spray paint with their stencils to create street art on the Chicago sidewalks to get their message out!
